"When exploring advanced dental implant treatment, understanding the supporting technologies can help patients feel more informed and reassured before undergoing treatment.
The YakeBot automated dental implant robot is a four-in-one system designed to accommodate a wide range of clinical situations:
- Active robotic implant system: The robotic arm automatically enters the patient’s oral cavity to perform osteotomy preparation and implant placement. Once the procedure is completed, the robotic arm automatically withdraws from the mouth.
- Semi-active robotic system: The robotic arm cannot automatically enter or withdraw from the patient’s oral cavity. Therefore, direct assistance from the dental surgeon is required. After osteotomy preparation and implant placement, the surgeon manually guides the robotic arm out of the mouth.
- Passive robotic system: The dental surgeon manually guides the robotic arm into the patient’s oral cavity. The surgeon must also apply vertical pressure to initiate osteotomy preparation or implant placement. Once the procedure is completed, the surgeon manually withdraws the robotic arm.
- Dynamic navigation system: The dental surgeon manually performs osteotomy preparation and implant placement. The accuracy of the procedure depends on the surgeon’s skills and clinical experience. The drill movement and its real-time position relative to the preoperative treatment plan are displayed on a monitor

It is particularly valuable in cases requiring a high degree of precision, especially when implants are placed near critical anatomical structures such as nerves, blood vessels, or the orbit.
Dental implant placement demonstration on a jaw model: Demonstrating performance through real-world data
One of the most impressive highlights of the event was a demonstration of dental implant robotic system-assisted dental implant surgery and immediate prosthetic restoration on a jaw model. The multidisciplinary team included implant surgeons, prosthodontists, and digital dental laboratory technicians.
The entire integrated workflow from surgical implant placement and digital CAD/CAM fabrication of the prosthesis to the delivery of the final restoration was completed within just one hour at the event.
Dr. Vo Van Nhan and his colleagues, Dr. Ta Đong Quan and Dr. Vo Tran Gia Khang, demonstrated dental implant robotic system assisted implant placement on a jaw model during the event.

Immediately after the demonstration, digital verification data confirmed the robot’s exceptional accuracy, with only minimal deviations from the preoperatively designed 3D treatment plan:
- Coronal implant deviation: 0.4 mm
- Apical implant deviation: 0.5 mm
- Angular deviation: only 0.2 degrees
These results provide valuable evidence of the feasibility, safety, and high quality prosthetic outcomes supported by robotic technology.
