What is Amalgam filling?

Author: Dr. Nhan Tam View: 639
Nhan Tam Dental Clinic - Amalgam filling is a filling material that contains mercury with other metallic elements such as silver, copper, tin, etc., which help prevent tooth decay and bacterial attacks.

Amalgam is often used as a filling material for tooth decay. According to Dr. Vo Van Nhan: Amalgam filling has been used successfully for 150 years and its quality has also increased over time. If used properly as indicated, the Amalgam filling is more durable and cheaper than other fillings.

However, there are doubts about the safety of Amalgam fillings due to the presence of mercury, but according to the World Health Organization (WHO), to this day, Amalgam remains a safe filling material. Currently, no studies have shown that Amalgam causes harmful health effects, and there is no evidence that removing this filling will improve health.

So if there are no special aesthetic needs and if the Amalgam filler is still good then there is no need to replace it with other materials.

Also, please note that replacement of the filling may result in loss of some dental tissues and the teeth will be irritated one more time. Only replace the filler when necessary.

To perform safe, effective fillings, please come to Nhan Tam Dental Clinic. With a team of experienced doctors, advanced infrastructure and equipment, the clinic will certainly bring satisfaction to even the most demanding customers.
